Without question, the most significant goal and benefit for this project is to provide safe, secure and nurturing care and housing for homeless families, struggling to rebuild their lives. We believe that we will be able to meet the following goals as we update, renovate and maintain our apartments and family home. When a family is healing from a significant trauma, we are able to provide a positive environment with the ability to help them with physical and mental health needs.
Moreover, in a short amount of time we will increase the number of families served at any given time from 12 to 18. As we work with and serve homeless and at-risk single mothers, we are strengthening these families to learn how to overcome and avoid future abuse and neglect. This is accomplished through strengthening numerous issues, including social connections, knowledge of parenting and child development, social and emotional competence of children, resourceful support in times of need, and parental resilience that will help them cope and bounce back from all kinds of challenges.
